Full course description

FREE IN-PERSON TRAINING: June 26, 2024 from 9am-12:00pm (Noon).
Location: Dunlap High School, 5220 West Legion Hall Road, Dunlap.

Sport Education is a curriculum model in which the goal is to provide children and youth with more authentic and enjoyable sport experiences than what it typically seen in past physical education classes. While there is a goal for our students to be competent in sport skills, sport behavior and various roles in the sporting world are also crucial for students to understand. Sport is a major part of American culture. While many students will never be an athlete at a high level, there are still ways for students to be involved in the sporting world without being a participant. Sport Education showcases those roles and opportunities, while also providing students an opportunity to gain competence in skill and game play.

This FREE training is faciliated by Anne McGee, Instructional Assistant Professor from Illinois State University.
